Fundamental Rights Forum 2021:
Here we come!

FRA is proud to host the first ever hybrid Fundamental Rights Forum. This year, it brings together the best of both in-person and online events.

Digital innovation at our Fundamental Rights Forum 2021 will set the template for future events. And it promises to be the most lively yet.

On 11-12 October 2021, we will connect the main stage at Vienna’s City Hall with hubs in major European cities and virtual sessions.

Stay-at-home restrictions may have forced many of our daily interactions online. But the rise of video conferencing tools have eased that shift.

We are all more comfortable with virtual meetings. Even when we can get back to meeting rooms or conference halls, it is unlikely events will return to the ‘old normal’.

Hybrid events are here to stay.

They give online audiences access to the atmosphere and energy of a live debate. Ultimately, they can inspire in ways that a purely virtual event just cannot.

Those changes that forced us to innovate have also had an impact on your human rights.

It affects everything from data protection to access to justice, from freedoms to equality, from solidarity to dignity – all underpinned by the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights.

The Fundamental Rights Forum 2021 is all about looking forward: towards a vision of hope. For that reason, two themes run throughout: our response to effects of the pandemic and the youth of Europe.

Do you have an idea that could help shape the human rights agenda for years to come? We want to hear from you.
