Your health and safety are our priority.
We are following the regulations issued by the Austrian and Viennese authorities to ensure the safety of all Fundamental Rights Forum 2021 participants at the Vienna City Hall, Austria.
This page provides the latest information and links on the Coronavirus rules in Austria and in Vienna.
We suggest you come back to this page closer to your travelling date, as measures imposed by the authorities may evolve.

Only a limited number of participants can take part in person at the Fundamental Rights Forum 2021 in the Vienna City Hall.
You will receive a confirmation from us whether you can attend the Forum in person.
This is a hybrid event. You can follow all sessions online.
On-site registration will not be possible.
According to the COVID-19 regulations applicable in Vienna, only people who have been vaccinated, tested negative (PCR test not older than 48 hours) or have recovered from COVID-19 will be allowed to attend the Forum in person.
People who were infected in the past 6 months can prove this by submitting a medical confirmation or the official quarantine notice.
We recommend all participants to get PCR tests as an additional precaution,
including those who are vaccinated or recovered.
The Fundamental Rights Agency (FRA) is not collecting participants’ health information. Proof of vaccination/ testing / recovery needs to be presented at the entry / registration desk and will not be saved or stored by the organizer in any form.
In case of an infection among the Forum participants, the organizers are legally required to provide the participant’s phone number and email (provided when registering for the event) to the local sanitary authorities. Should this be the case, we will inform you immediately. For this purpose only, your presence at the Forum will be noted; name and contact details will be kept for 28 days as required from the Austrian government.
Wearing FFP2 masks is currently mandatory in public transport, shops and public venues in Vienna.
Forum participants, whose immunity status was checked at the entrance to the Vienna City Hall, do not need to wear a mask inside the Forum’s venue.
Should there be any change to this rule by the time the Forum starts, we will inform participants and provide masks if needed.
For maximum protection and hygiene, prevention supplies (hand sanitizer and face masks) will also be available at the Forum locations in the Vienna City Hall.
Currently, there is no legal minimum distancing requirement. However, wherever possible, make sure you keep sufficient distance from other participants, especially in small areas, such as restrooms, lifts, etc. where we recommend the use of an FFP2 mask should distancing be limited.
Should you have symptoms typical of COVID-19, we ask that you refrain from attending the event and inform the Forum organisers immediately.
